- Remember last year (and some people may not!) when you'd mis-dial a
- telephone number and a recording would tell you "you need to dial a 0 or a 1
- before this number." Didn't you ever wonder why, if they could figure out
- that you should've dialed a 0 or 1, that they didn't just put your call
- though?
- Training. Sure, it _used_ to be that all area codes had to have a 0 or 1
- in the second position, but with all the cellular phones, beepers, modems, and
- the like, some area codes filled up. So just a few months ago, there was a
- big switch, and a number of area codes got moved, with numerous new ones
- created, with other numbers in the second digit.
- Just as example, Lake Havasu, AZ got bumped out of area code 602 by
- Phoenix, so Utilities Unlimited is now in the 520 area code. It's entirely
- possible that Oceanside is now in the 632 area code, or parts of it.
